The streets of Manhattan were a sea of blacks, browns, and denims this morning. And then there was little TAG, in a navy blue dress, a green jacket, and gold Jack Rogers. I suppose the Vineyard Vines tote I was carrying that happens to be the size of my sister didn't help much. This irony was not lost on me. However, no matter the weather, today's attire calls for Spring.
No gray sky could get in the way of this sunshine day. THE NEW LILLY STORE OPENS TODAY!
Can you believe it took them this long? How has the Upper East Side survived until now?
My history with Lilly is a long and romantic tale. I won't bore you with it. Yet.
A few years ago, my family and I were walking down Park Avenue in Winter Park, Florida. There was a large store front white sign with pink and green letters that read, "Lilly Pulitzer: Coming soon!" My mother stopped in her tracks and said, "You should apply! That would be the perfect job for you." Thanks for this inspiration, Mom. The rest is history.
