Instead of mixing these up with other posts, I decided to make only one mishmosh of my ideas to share with you all.
One of my favorite things about living in the Big Apple is making friends. I literally dream up different ways to meet new people. I am lucky to live in such a cultural mecca that serves as home to so many different walks of life and I want to take advantage of every second. Currently I am: president of a book club, membership chair for my sorority alumnae association, and a volunteer for Susan G. Komen. It just never feels like enough! Then it hit me: why not meet my cyberspace pals in real life?
So, I am starting a blogging club. It's just a fun way for bloggers to meet one another. We can get together once a month or so for dinner and drinks. If you live in the area and are interested, please email me at jgiwc.tag@gmail.com. (I'm still thinking of a cute name for this, so any suggestions are more than welcome.)
Summer is in full swing and I can't help but notice that there are a lot of unworn frocks hanging in my closet. There is a whole slew of Lilly in there that hasn't been on this body in at least a year. The thought of selling it on eBay makes me shudder, and I'm not sure if I can find a consignment shop in NYC that would be willing to take it on. Then it hit me: again.
Why not host a blog-wide Lilly swap? What better way to mix up your summer wardrobe at post office prices? If enough girls are interested, I can start a tally of blogs that would like to be included. My site would serve as a home base. I will list all of the bloggers who are interested so you can easily navigate from one to another to see what's out there.
This is how it would work:
Take photos of your gently-worn Lilly items and post them on your blog.
List the name of the print (if known) and size of the item.
Be clear on what you will swap for. Trading a dress for a top would be fine with me, but everyone else may not feel the same.
Agree with whomever you are swapping with what type of shipping you would both like.
ALL items MUST BE properly laundered before the swaps are made.
Please email me at jgiwc.tag@gmail.com if you are interested. If I hear from at least five girls, I will go ahead and get started next week.
(P.S. If you have a non-Lilly uber-preppy item that you're ready to part with, feel free to put it up 'for swap' as well. You never know! And don't forget about accessories!)
I look forward to hearing from you!

Happy Fourth to all of my wonderful readers!

OOH so exciting! The LA bloggers are going to aim for a happy hour together in the near future. Love your swap idea!
Great idea! I live in NYC, too
what a great idea! i was just thinking that i ahve a closet full of lilly that i might not wear anymore!
Your Lily swap idea is GREAT - but can it be a world-wide swap - or is that just far too ridiculous?? The only UK stockist so far is Harrods. It's a truly painful situation to be in!
Bummer!
I would love to participate but I don't have any wayward Lilly. I do have a few RL Polos that are a bit too short for me...
Would you match people up by size or would you just collect all the stuff at your house and send it out to whom you see fit?

Ohhh, the Lilly Swap sounds delightful. I would love to partake, but will not be home to Dallas until July 12th. Let me know!
so glad i found your blog- you're awesome! all the lilly talk cheers me up while i'm bored at work.

Hello-Hello.... what a cool post. You certainly are in one fabulous locale for meeting new people, and ones specifically interested in things that pique your interests!
What a fabulous idea! You certainly know ways to maximize the power and possibilities of the medium... you go girl! I bet once you add these to all your other volunteer activities you will find your extra time filled to the brim and overflowing!
Have a happy rest of the week!
