1. QT with Sunshine in the City and my sister!
2. Online scrabble.
3. The new earrings my mom got me.
4. Going to dinner with a bunch of girls last night and chatting with a stranger... who ended up paying for our $400+ tab.
5. MM (Mystery Man. You asked for details - here you go!) went to Vermont and brought me back maple syrup encased in a glass maple leaf. I'm syrup's biggest fan.
And one random rant...
I'm not sure where this is stemming from, but perhaps you'll feel the need to commiserate. Does anyone remember the days when Disney Channel was good? And I don't mean The Lizzie McGuire Show days good (though those days were better)... I mean Fast Forward days good. Bug Juice days good. I know it's not just me. What about Mickey? The mouse that this entire empire is built on? What about Pluto? Daisy Duck? (Loved her. She was Waspy.) I remember coming home from preschool and watching the lunch box special: Curious George (the REAL one, not this Jack Johnson crap), Spot the dog, and Mickey Mouse cartoons. As someone who lived in Central Florida for four long years, I feel I've earned the right to complain. Don't get me wrong, I was in the theatre bopping along to HSM3 just like every other sucker in America, but I can't help yearn for the days of The Torkelsons.
My boyfriend loves Mickey Mouse... weird I know, but cute and nostalgic. I remember the old days of the Disney Channel, and hehe, I have a secret love for the Lizzie McGuire show too :)
ReplyDeleteI loved the Torkilsons! And I feel like a lot of channels were better back when we were younger--like TV Land for instance. When did Rosanne become classic television??
ReplyDeleteI cannot agree more about the lack of actual Disney characters and good 'ol shows on the channel. Living by the original Disneyland, I too feel I have the right to complain :) :) :)
ReplyDeleteMy little sister is sadly no longer allowed to watch the disney channel because my mom is convinced miley cyrus is about to be a trainwreck and my my sister loves her. She also loved jamie lynn spears.
ReplyDeleteBUG JUICE was the best show ever!! Don't get me started on Salute You Shorts... Nickelodeon used to be so much better too!!
ReplyDeleteHa! You're just a baby. I remember the Disney Channel of the 80s, with stuff like Hayley Mills movies and The New Leave It To Beaver.
ReplyDeleteoh wow. the torklesons brings back serious memories! and original tgif? oooo la la
ReplyDeleteYou also spent some quality time listening to two ladies eat $5 footlongs and chatting relentlessly but you didn't say anything because they probably would have kicked your @$$! lol!
ReplyDeleteThank you mucho for referencing the Torklesons! I LOVED them!
ReplyDeleteAhhhh The Torkesons!!! Love it!
ReplyDeleteI tried to convince my parents (multiple times) to let me go to the camp they featured on Bug Juice. Instead I went to some lame girl scout one.
ReplyDeletehah oh my goodness this post made my day. I LOVE old Disney. Bug Juice and the Torkelsons, amazing. I'm glad people remember the good old days of t.v. :)
ReplyDeleteOh my god Disney was so good back in the day, I was like 11/12 I miss it. I was such a Lizzie McGuire/ Even Stevens fan. Haha.
ReplyDeleteBug Juice was my first reality TV show! Disney was good, but I have to say I favor Nickelodeon more.
ReplyDeleteNice list! Playing Scrabble Online is also one of my favorite weekend passtimes. I don't spend a ton of time with it, but I often play 1 or 2 afternoon games when I'm relaxing outside on my laptop!
