Bad news comes to my front door

I was in Columbus, Ohio this past weekend at a seminar for my sorority. This is what showed up at my hotel door Friday morning. Of course, I was already hyperaware of the situation due to numerous text messages and Twitter posts the evening before.

As I have said before, Michael Jackson has always been a huge part of my life musically. Those of you who know me well know that I am just devastated. I didn't allow myself to dwell on it this weekend as I was in happy mode for three days straight, but now that I'm home and watching the tribute on VH1, it's hit me - he's gone. I'm never going to be able to see him live like I always dreamed and dancing to Thriller will never quite be the same. He was truly one of a kind.

I thought about how to memorialize him properly in this forum and have decided the best way would be to share all of my favorite Thriller photos with you. My good friends know that I LIVE for this song. I used to request it at our sorority family every year and when the first few notes blared from the speakers, heads turned. Halloween isn't complete without it. I can't think of a more of iconic song or music video.

You will be missed, MJ. Thanks for being you.

  2. I didn't really grow up listening to Michael (born in 82)...but as I got older, I grew to love his music...especially Thriller. I always request it at a wedding or event. It's a fun song to dance to (although I haven't quite learned the correct moves)...

  3. So, I was out this weekend and did the Thriller dance in a casino when I found out. Only in a casino did I feel comfortable pulling a move like that.
