I just have to tell you all about the WHALE OF A DEAL I got this morning!
A little birdy in a tree told me recently that Filene's Basement is in some sort of financial trouble and is therefore having a clearance sale and that she'd gotten a few cute Vineyard Vines steals. Lover all of all things sale (it's my favorite four-letter word, after all), I headed over to NYC's Union Square location, promising myself not to spend over $100.
Here's what I wound up with:

Nancy coat in Cobalt Blue. This was the perfect find for me, because my Burberry quilted jacket is going on six years of wear and tear and has certainly seen better days. No doubt if my mother was in town she'd ask me why in the world I bought a fall coat in light blue and I suppose she's right, but I do think this will look great with dark denim come October.

Margo skirt in Ring Toss. I found this at the last moment and decided to get it instead of another skirt I was pondering because it was far cuter and ten dollars less! Look closely - each of the little life rafts says "Vineyard Vines"!

Riptide Rugby dress in Paradise Pink. I also think this will be lovely come Fall. I love polo dresses. They are so juvenile... just like me.
Grand total of these three items? $99.91.
RUN DON'T WALK to your local Filene's Basement. I'm hoping there is one in your town. Also, for my male readers, there WAS a nice men's VV section as well. There was an amazing pair of turtle-printed swim trunks that I wanted to pick up for my boyfriend. (I call him Snappy - for many reasons that I will not get into now, but suffice it to say, I have always loved turtles and think they represent some of the best qualities in life.) Unfortunately, they only seemed to have XL and up, which he is certainly not.
I did, however, purchase these shoes for myself in honor of him...
Tweet tweet says the birdie in the tree. Can't wait till our fashionable VV in Autumn celebratory meal. And, of course, cannot wait to see you tonight!!!!!!!!!
ReplyDeleteAh, I love a good sale. It is such a thrill! I purchased a J.Crew shirt and Lilly dress (retail $248)this week for $100 and I was seriously giddy about how much I saved. p.s. The VV skirt is adorable!
ReplyDeleteUnbelievable, Miss JGIWC, you found incredible deals, and they're all beautiful. :)
ReplyDeleteThat polo dress is SO you! I love it! :)
ReplyDeleteWow, what cute finds! I love your new quilted coat. I have been wanting one but it's not really practical here in FLA...yay and boo. Don't you just love getting a good deal??? I just scored a Lilly dress at TJMaxx for $50!
ReplyDeleteI refuse to admit my Burberry quilted jacket has seen better days, I have such an attachment to it. That blue one is definitely cute, though!
ReplyDeleteI actually had a nightmare last night that I went to this amazing outlet store from my hometown and it had changed and was selling things at full price. I woke up in a sweat. This is not a joke (unfortunately).
Such fab finds! I have the rugby dress in the honeydew stripe, perfect for fall and looks great with brown tights and riding boots.
ReplyDeletenice deals!!! I am on a shopping freeze as of now, with moving and all, thanks for letting me live vicariously through you!! xxxoo
ReplyDeleteLove your new duds! I don't think we have a FB around here, but I'm going to check. I've always heard their deals are divine!
ReplyDeleteHoly steal those are some good finds! If you're on the lookout for some cute skinny white jeans, Levis is having an amazing sale.
ReplyDeleteWe got my mom the Nancy jacket for Christmas and she loves hers-I would love to get her another color. No Filene's in CA though. I will have my sister check the DC stores.
ReplyDeleteSeriously!? I am still trying to get over the $4 Milly purchase, now this!? Talk about fashion forward! Xoxo-BLC
ReplyDeleteI have a Filene's Basement and I am soooo tempted. I have those turtle shoes you got and I love them. They make me 9 feet tall, but oh well. Too too cute.
