This past weekend, I went to a family wedding in Chicago.
Being recently single and attending a wedding is no easy feat, my friends. Especially when there were comments made about me. That I'm not likely to get married any time soon. Yikes!
Anyway, on to the good stuff...
I wore a gorgeous black Vera Wang dress that does NOT photograph well. It is beaded along the bust and ties into a bow across the back. Quite honestly, none of the pictures are great. I wore my hair half-up which was very unflattering. Remind me not to do that again!
And, photo of the week. My sister and I. She had a great 17th birthday and appreciates all of the wishes that were left here! More tomorrow - I have a headache that just won't quit.

Ugh, it's unbelievable what people think they can say, grr.
The dress looks gorgeous- Vera Wang is the best :)
Darling outfit!! Those comments you spoke of are many times filled with jealousy of your life! So don't ever let them get you down! Just because all those people are married doesn't mean they are happy about it! haha xoxo
Ohhhh, I love that dress! I'm sorry you had to deal with that ick at the wedding...I'm sure I'll be going through that ish in April myself. Read my post from earlier today ;)
Beautiful dress TAG! xxxoo
hey. i stumbled upon your blog after searching about "spray tan" on google, haha, and kept reading and haven't been able to stop since. i've recently started a new blog... pretty-in-green.com, if you wanna follow me or read from time to time that'd be cool. cheers! keep up the good writing.
Gorgeous dress!! How insensitive people can be - smug marrieds....
I bet that dress is even prettier in person! I always find that dark colored clothing never photographs as pretty as it really is. I think that the dress is beautiful, so it must be breathe-taking IRL!
Cute dress! I was in Chicago shopping on Sat and my mom and I had an early dinner at the Grill in the Westin and I saw two different brides. I thought of you being in Chicago for a wedding!
Aww, you and your sissy remind me of my brother and myself. It's just the two of us, and he's nine years younger than I am. That's such an amazing bond, isn't it?
I get the those singleton questions all the time from my extended family. I'm not as well-mannered as you are...I usually snort with laughter and/or roll my eyes. I could use some work in the diplomacy department, I think. ;-)
Oh, you look gorgeous! Don't worry about all those meanies...
I have been in a relationship for over three years and we don't plan to get engaged for another year or so. He wants to buy a nice ring, I want to have my business off the ground, so we wait... The result is that every wedding I go to involves 'oh, poor you, you aren't THERE yet" looks. I once got asked 'don't you feel like your relationship is empty without a ring on your finger?'. What the, huh?
Every wedding also has both our (Jewish) mothers pressing for when we're going to get hitched.
I think they're all just jealous of how you're rocking that dress all own your fine own!
People can be so annoying with such comments. The irony is that not everyone who is paired up or married is blissfully happy. The dress looks amazing and I'm sure Mr. Right is coming your way this New Year :)
