To Sir, With Love

My father is my best friend. There is no one else in the world like him and our relationship is not something I can put into words (I've tried). He recently inquired if he could guest blog and I couldn't say yes fast enough. You all know that I have been the sole contributor since the blog's birth, but this is too important to me and too wonderful not to share.

I'm so lucky. My hero is also my dad.

Without further ado, I give you the JDIPC...

A message from a Jewish Dad in Prada Clothing to his Jewish Girl....

I've been an avid reader of jgiwc since it's inception. I've marveled at the wit and humor and I've sometimes been surprised by the brutal honesty. As you've worn your heart on your sleeve, you've shared not only the happy moments but sometimes those less so. I've come to realize that a blog is a diary and a diary, while quite personal, is also truthful and forthright and incredibly cathartic. Reading your blog has allowed me to share your inner most feelings and it has shown me how much you have matured as you've leap frogged from a bright-eyed college graduate into a wise beyond your years, articulate, sometimes sassy, extemely funny and always beautiful young woman. I am constantly surprised at how much you've grown, how easily you've found your stride and how clever your words are chosen. I love your spirit and I know that great things are ahead of you - how could they not be? You are surrounded by an amazing support system of family who adore you and friends who love you unconditionally, through thick and thin, through good times and bad, through life's travails as well as through life's blessings. With your writing, you continue to surprise, to entertain, and most importantly, to inspire. In what is just the beginning of your adult life, you have managed to come so very, very far. Don't stop writing for it is something you do effortlessly and brilliantly. I've known, with clarity, that while you will always by my little "Jewish Girl" you can most assuredly rename your moniker to read "Jewish WOMAN in Wasp's Clothing". Keep up the good works. Your fan base grows with every issue you post and with every story you continue to tell. Continue to live, love and laugh your way into the hearts of this, and all your other, very devoted readers! Thanks for letting me share....

With much love,
Dad
