Wedding Wednesday from your favorite single gal

I get a number of questions via email, JGIWC, and Formspring about my dream wedding. I'm not sure why everyone's so interested since clearly my day is far, far away, but hey, no complaints here as it's fun to play! Many of you know that my parents got married at the Pierre Hotel in New York City. They had a very classic, traditional wedding, which is what I think I'd like if I ever tie the knot. Wedding plans seem to take up much of my conversation lately and for good reason: I had four friends get engaged in 2010 and I'd venture to say that four or five more will get engaged in 2011. We're really growing up and it's so exciting.

I am in a dear friend's wedding party next Fall. Being the pushy bridesmaid I am (Perri doesn't call me Lucy for nothing) I like to pass along ideas to my bride-to-be. Today I sent her Save The Dates from one of my favorite stationers, Hello Lucky.

But I'm also a slacky bridesmaid, as I'm the only one who has yet to try on any dresses! Whoops! We're doing Lula Kate. Lucky for me the dresses will be my favorite color, yellow, and each girl gets to pick her own style. My favorite is the Maggie.

As for my soon-to-be-engaged gals, we talk a lot about rings. I personally think picking out an engagement ring must be such a daunting task, so if a girl is smart she'll tell her parents, her friends, her rabbi/priest, her dog, her mailman, EVERYONE what kind of ring she'd like so when the time comes around the boy will have a far less stressful time picking out the bling. I have one friend who wants a princess cut with a bezeled band. I have one friend who wants a Grace Kelly style. And I have one friend who says less than two carats just will not do. Should my day roll around, kindly tell the fool who wants to marry me that I'd like a solitaire emerald cut, please.
