Yellow diamonds in the light

Like many of you, I have recently fallen in love with the Bubble necklace at the J. Crew. What's not to love? The sheer stature, the pop of color, the whimsical design, the gold tone... The perfect piece for Summer!

The only thing about it I don't like is the price tag. $150?! As someone whose family has a long history in the industry, I just cannot bring myself to pay that much for this. It's unreasonable and there are other things I "need" that I would rather put the money towards.

(I put need in quotation marks because I have more than enough and it's a dicey word, but there are other things that I want and will get far more use out of, like a big summer tote for everyday use. Right now when I spin in the mornings, I carry 3 bags - my handbag, my Lululemon mini duffle and a Lulu shopping bag with a change of clothing. It's too much to schlep around and I'd like to get one big open top bag that I can throw everything in to mitigate this. I digress.)

However... I really like the necklace, and heard that a bunch of them were floating around eBay. I scored the above beauty for $16.74, shipping included. Who knows if it's "real", but I don't really care. It's cute and bright and I'll get a ton of wear out of it. Can't tell you how thrilled I am that my favorite color is the hot hue of the season!

Speaking of good deals... I found an extra Victoria's Secret Rewards Card lying around my apartment (I used one last weekend and didn't realize I had another) so I decided to make a purchase online. I'd had a black bikini in my "shopping cart" for months now. I added a few other things and went to checkout to enter my card info, expecting it to be the typical $10 credit. Imagine my surprise when I saw that it was for $50! That combined with a few online coupon codes (my favorite) meant that I got about $169 worth of stuff for $88.50. So happy!
