This past weekend, my cousin Julie came to visit all the way from Miami. Having visitors is always an adventure because A) sharing The Shoebox is just silly fun and B) getting to see New York through someone else's eyes is refreshing.
J and P at 5 Napkin Burger for dinner.
And me!
My favorite... Lobster roll sliders.
I told Jules we could do anything she wanted... and she wanted to go to the Empire State Building!
Believe it or not, I'd never been and I'm SO glad we went. The views were amazing, and we saw a couple get engaged! I couldn't help noticing how pretty the ring was and how cute the boy was... Naughty Teddi.
Dinner at Stanton Social! So so good.
Silly T.
Sipping cuties.
My favorite cocktail at SS... the Strawberry Fields.
Grey Goose Citron, muddled strawberries, lemon syrup, fresh lemon and a Riesling floater.
Will most definitely be recreating at home this summer.
We had brunch with Jamie and her kiddos at Alice's Tea Cup. Yum!
Except for a bit of rain on Sunday, the weather was absolutely gorgeous... clear, sunny and breezy. We had a great time exploring NYC by foot. Jules, you are the perfect houseguest. Come again soon!

This is fantastic. Love the final outcome, clean lines, creative, and you’re still able to see the data. I want one for my blog!
ReplyDeleteI want to drink that drink all the time.
ReplyDeleteyum! those drinks look amazing!!
ReplyDelete...and I have never been to the empire state building either and i have been to NYC probably 50 times (I grew up in southern Connecticut). How fun!
Aw, sounds like a fun weekend! I'm so jealous of your living in NYC, but not so much in a shoebox!
ReplyDeleteOh, what lovely girls out on the town in NYC! Hee hee, I'm glad you gave the drink recipe, because I was totally gonna ask, "Hey, what's that fun-looking pink drink you're all enjoying?!" ;-)
ReplyDeleteSo far, my summer drink is the same as last year's: Baja Bob's sugar-free mojitos made with cheap-o white rum and diet ginger ale instead of club soda. YUMMERS.
Ah, the lobster sliders sound fantastic! I've never been to the empire state building either; the views look amazing, though. :)
